Team leader of the Municipal Support Team (MST) in Nepal at the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction (Ministry of Urban Development). Responsible for GIZ funded technical support for the implementation of the Worldbank financed Urban Governance and Development Program (UGDP) comprising construction of infrastructure and institutional capacity development in 6 emerging towns. Responsibilities as team leader: overall coordination of project; communication with institutions and client; strategy development; project management; time planning; technical steering; budgeting and financial administration; staff management; supervision of contracted consultants.

Project manager and researcher for overall programme coordination, scientific support and implementation consultancy to 9 international research/application projects in the field of sustainable urban development, climate change mitigation/adaptation and energy efficiency in Hyderabad/India, Hefei/China, Urumqi/China, HCMC/Vietnam, Tehran/Iran, Casablanca/Morocco, Addis Ababa/Ethiopia, Gauteng/South Africa and Lima/Peru.

Project management tasks:

- Coordination with client (German Federal Ministry of Education and Research)

- Communication with international partners of 9 bilateral projects

- Budgeting (Volume: 1.9 million Euro)

- Work and time planning

- Contracting and supervision of consultant company

- Conception and organization of networking events and conferences

- Practical training of young professionals in the post-graduate international programme Urban Management. Coordination for the module “Urban Planning and Urban Analysis” and conception/realization of yearly field projects. (03/2008 – present)
